What our students are saying…
“The Bradley Method facilitates confidence and knowledge; with this we can flourish from any experience whether it goes as planned or not.”
--Whitaker Family- Freestanding Birthcenter
"Become educated..that is all we can say! My husband and I learned such valuable information in our Bradley classes, including proper nutrition for mom and how dad can assist and comfort mom during labor. We know what we learned played such a large part in us having a healthy 7lb 11oz. baby boy!

For all women out there:
I know this much and that is that the Bradley natural childbirth experience changed my life in more ways than one. It was an amazing experience to birth naturally. Coming into Bradley with the history of an epidural, episiotomy, and preeclampsia with my first birth, I had my doubts that "I" could birth naturally. Not to mention I am the type of woman who would prefer to be put to sleep for a cavity filling.
After just one Bradley class my husband and I knew it was for us and I had such faith in my body. We knew that I could do it. The class brought my husband and I together as one for the birth-he was so involved with my relaxation and was an amazing coach. I know that he is thrilled in regards to our birth experience. He tells every pregnant woman that he meets about it!!!
We chose to have our natural childbirth in a hospital. We were prepared with our birthplan in hand and made all of our wishes known to our OB. Having the plan and letting the OB in on it helped the birth go smoothly.
As we are planning for baby #3, I long for the experience of natural childbirth. What better way to bring a baby into this world. The way it was meant to be, the way it can be, the way it is for me!!!
My hope is that every woman can have the experience that I had. It was empowering, emotional and delightful all in one!!
Sincerely,
--Elizabeth and Stanley Miller, Eldersburg, Hospital birth
" After relying on the traditional Lamaze classes with my first child, I was left with a birth experience that was frightening and foreign to me; Lamaze hadn't shown me how to respond to the changes in my body during labor in a way that helped me understand or prepare for them. In the end, I was forced into a Cesarean that left me feeling let down and fearful that I would never be able to give birth naturally. I turned to the Bradley Method and thankfully found Tina and Matt. They guided the classes I attended with such respect for birth as a natural occurrence, and I found more information through them than I could have hoped for from any other source. When my second child was born, Tina attended his birth and was a comforting and calming shoulder for me to lean on, which I honestly needed! My son was born naturally and without hospitalization, which is amazing after a Cesarean. If I decided in the future to have another child, I would definitely go back to Tina and Matt to refresh and share the experience with them as well."

The Bradley Method of Childbirth teaches you what it is your body is doing in labor and how to help your body accomplish the task of birthing your baby, rather than helping you "deal" with labor. Our bodies are designed to have babies; it's not a medical condition needing medication and lots of machines! After an amazing birth center experience, our fourth Bradley Birth baby came into the world 7lbs 3oz, with an enormous urge to nurse, so alert and ready to learn about his new world!

“Bradley taught us how to birth in peace, power, love and safety. I can’t wait to labor again!”
--C.O. Sykesville, Homebirth
“Bradley babies are happy babies! With that said, being a father of seven babies born using the Bradley Method, I can see a clear difference in the attitudes of fathers who were part of the labor and birthing process, and those who were there to be supportive and observe their child being brought into the world. The classes truly teach you that YOU are the coach, YOU are the one in control that is going to make this miracle happen in a wonderful loving environment-whether or not you are surrounded by beeping machines and hospital staff.”
--L. Seaman, Marriottsville, Freestanding Birthcenter
“We recently birthed our first child (a 7lb 1oz, 20in boy) with the support of a doula and midwife at a birth center.
Bradley classes prepared us for an unmedicated and healthy pregnancy and birth by keeping us informed and giving us the support we needed to make informed decisions.
We are empowered, deeply satisfied, and full of excitement about the incredible bonds that birthing a baby together has formed between the three of us.”
--The Fisher Family, Baltimore, Freestanding Birthcenter
Bradley classes taught me a confidence in birthing that I know I wouldn't have had otherwise, based on the best and most recent research about what's best for the baby. It also got my husband involved in the process so that it strengthened our family bond before we even became a family.

Kelley and I are so happy we took the Bradley class. We gained so much knowledge about everything from labor to pregnancy nutrition. I can't imagine having a natural birth without this class!

Tina and Matt's experience and expertise helped to guide us into the natural and beautiful birth of our daughter. Our birthing experience went as well as it did because of our time in the Bradley classes led by the Overtons. Their knowledge and support helped us to travel through difficulties which could have ended in disaster, but was turned to joy and an extremely positive birth. Thank you Tina and Matt for all that you do in training people how to naturally birth their babies. With all of our love.
Right after the birth of our daughter, Ava Bethan, a nurse asked me if I would do natural child birth again. Of course the answer was not, "Yes, I would love to do it tomorrow." but given some time to recuperate I would love to do the work to bring another child into this world naturally. I say work, because it was not easy, I had six hours of hard induced labor, but the outcome was more than I could have imagined. I was overwhelmed with how our daughter was brought into the world. I was induced because my water broke and labor did not ensue; I was terrified that things would not go well and we would be thrown into a Cesarean birth. But through using what we learned, my husband coaching me through the pain and we birthed Ava naturally.
I guess I never took the time to really thank you for the impact you had on us as we prepared for the birth of Ava. Your support was so personal and you always had an ear to hear our concerns and help us through them. Thank you for preparing us for the beautiful birth of our daughter.

The amount of education we took with us from our Bradley classes was more than we anticipated. I highly recommend it to everyone bringing babies into this world. The only negative part about class was that it ended when I wish we could just keep it going forever. We made great friends and left feeling so energized each night.

Tina and Matt, Steve and I both felt that your warmth, humor, and knowledge made the class an extraordinary experience. Keep up the great work!

Tina and Matt's class was a crucial part of the process of having a natural birth. The insight, wisdom and objective information lead us toward realizing the birth experience that we wanted. I've read that birth never happens as planned, yet our preparation with Tina and Matt enabled us to make responsible decisions that were healthy for me (the mama), our beautiful baby, my husband, and our new family unit. Tina is a compassionate, funny, informed teacher. Matt's insight was a wonderful perspective that provided an additional level of understanding to our Bradley lessons. We are so fortunate to have found them before our first child was born.
